BBC NEWS | Middle East | Abbas sacks security commanders
Looks like Abbas is very serious about the ceasefire between Palestine and Israel. He just sacked a General in charge of security and their national police chief because they failed to stop a rocket attack by Hamas.
Hamas says it's not bound by the ceasefire until it sees Israel completing it's part of the bargain, but Abbas has given strict instructions to his security forces will prevent a repeat attack or those who don't may be fired.
What a great way to get action and something very new to the entire conflict. Maybe now if people start losing their jobs they will do them instead?
Or will it just get rid of a lot of talented people and send them over to Hamas instead or create some civil war or a coup attempt?
We shall see.

The dismissals are "punitive measures" against officers who failed to do their duty, a spokesman for Mr Abbas said."
